  Echoing Wind Siberians
"Zac Sherer" Co-Owner 2+ years
My journey in the show ring began long before dogs were part of my life. At an early age, I developed a passion for confirmation cattle showing, where I learned the importance of structure, movement, and ring presence—lessons that continue to shape how I approach competition today. I’ve always been interested in dog breeds, and that curiosity eventually led my wife and me to Echoing Winds Siberian Huskies, a kennel whose focus on type, temperament, and athleticism aligned with what we were looking for. In 2023, my family and I welcomed our first show dog, Echoing Winds With Godspeed, which officially began our journey in the Siberian Husky world. Not long after, we added Echoing Winds I Know It’s For Real, followed by Echoing Winds I Love Cheap Thrills, forming a small but driven team of dogs that excel in both structure and performance. In 2025, I proudly championed my first dog, CH Echoing Winds I Know It’s For Real, a milestone that represented years of learning, handling, and dedication. That journey has not been without challenges. Summer experienced a serious accident that tested our resolve and commitment. Through careful rehabilitation, patience, and determination, my wife and I worked together to bring her back to full strength. That experience deepened my respect for the resilience, willingness, and athleticism of the Siberian Husky and reinforced my dedication to prioritizing the health and longevity of our dogs alongside competitive success. Mentorship has played a vital role in my development. The guidance and support of Charity Reger and Robin Malchow have helped shape my handling style, training approach, and understanding of the sport. Their mentorship has been instrumental in my continued growth and has pushed me to become a better handler and advocate for my dogs. Outside the show ring, I am deeply involved with the Coulee Kennel Club, where I help organize and support the club’s annual show and contribute wherever needed. In 2024, I was honored to receive the AKC Outstanding Sportsmanship Award from the Coulee Kennel Club, an acknowledgment that reflects the values I strive to uphold within the sport. Beyond conformation, I enjoy participating in bikejoring and canicross, activities that highlight the breed’s working heritage while strengthening the bond between dog and handler. One of my greatest goals is to continue developing my handling skills while setting my daughter up for success as a junior handler. As I continue to grow in the sport, I am focused on learning the responsibilities of breeding and preserving the Siberian Husky through sound structure, movement, and temperament. I am committed to taking a thoughtful, patient approach while continuing to learn from those who have paved the way before me.
