News & Updates at Echoing Wind!
December 31, 2019 - Happy New Year to the Echoing Wind family, human and canine! 2019 has brought some challenges and some changes, but with those also came lots of successes:
*Kruiz, AKC CH/CAN GCH/IABCA IntCH Echoing Wind's Take It All CA UCA became a permanent resident with Dawn and Trudy Ouimet of Whirlwind Siberians in Canada, and earned his Canadian CH this year owner-handled by them. (His daughter Destiny earned her Canadian GCH with them this year as well).
*Bauer, AKC GCH Echoing Wind's Bauer Hawkey, had a fantastic time in the ring, earning his AKC CH and GCH as well as 39/100 points toward his Bronze GCH and multiple Owner-Handled Breed and Group awards with his mom Rachel.
*Jules, Echoing Wind's Kick Start My Heart, now has 13/15 points and 3 majors in VERY limited showing, and we hope to have her finished in early 2020.
*Shiva (Echoing Wind Kodiak Stand By Me) our bred-by puppy out of Jules and Tusk, was placed with Sandy Hudspeth in Oklahoma in February of this year. She has started off her career with a bang, earning 3 IABCA Baby Puppy titles in Conformation, 60/100 UKC CH points and multiple Group placements, and 11 performance titles in various activities, all by 12 months of age!
Most important of all, we've had some wonderful pups and retired adults who ended up in loving forever homes where we know they will be cared for and cherished, and that is every breeder's dream for *any* pup they produce. We are so grateful to all of you for supporting us through all of our growth and changes over the years, and we hope to continue to interact with you, your families, and of course your dogs moving into the next decade.
Happy New Year, everyone!

December 15, 2019 - The Echoing Wind team had a very nice weekend at the Granite City KC shows in St. Cloud, MN. Saturday Bauer went Select under Judge Mr. Robert J. Shreve for a 4-point major toward his GCHB. Sunday Kruiz and Destiny, who made a special trip down from Canada to see us, went Select Dog and Winners Bitch for a 3-point major each under Judge Mr. Arley D. Hussin.

We LOVED seeing The Kruiz Man and Destiny again, and we can't wait until the next time they can come visit! A huge thank-you to Dawn and Trudy Ouimet for taking such great care of them!

October 6, 2019 - A wonderful way to finish the weekend! Bauer went BOB for another 5-point major on his first day as a Grand Champion, leaving him with 32/100 lifetime GCH points toward his Bronze GCH. As an added bonus, that 32 GCH points also leaves him currently at #1 Siberian Husky for GCH points in all of Minnesota! Thank you judges for recognizing this boy's quality!
October 5, 2019 - As of today Bauer is an AKC Grand Champion! He only needed 2 singles but finished in style, going BOB over 15 dogs for a 5-point major and then taking a Working Group 3rd. Bauer is now our second homebred dog to achieve an AKC Grand Championship, and we're over the moon!
Thank you so much to his mom Rachel for always keeping him trained and conditioned and to Robin Malchow for handling him today - and of course a huge thank you to Judge Richard "Boom Boom" Lashbrook!

She is just 8 weeks old, but we are excited to see how she matures. Welcome to the family, Amore!
August 22, 2019 - Today we took a day to attend the North Star Working Group Association specialty show in Lake Elmo, MN. We took Jules and Kingston, and while Jules was unfortunately not the judge's choice for today, Kingston went WD for his first AKC point! Thank you, Judge Tim Peterson!

Our boy Kingston is also doing well, and is currently sitting at #4 in the breed ranking in UKC! We hope to get him out into the AKC rings in late 2019 or early 2020 - he is maturing very nicely.

July 9, 2019 - Some great news from Bauer's mom, Rachel Royer: based on points tallied up to June 20, Bauer is currently sitting at #99 in the top 100 owner-handled Siberians in the AKC. This is amazing given it is 9 months into the NOHS ranking year (rankings are calculated October 11, 2018-October 9, 2019) and they earned these points from only one day of Owner-Handled competition. Way to go, you two! Keep it up!

June 2, 2019 - We had an AMAZING weekend at the 3 day Fargo-Moorehead cluster in West Fargo, ND. There were 4 shows (1 on Fri/Sun and 2 on Sat) and our dogs absolutely rocked it! In addition to winning WD/BOS for his 4-point finishing major on Friday, Bauer picked up 2 more BOS awards and a Select for two more 4-pt majors and a 3-pt major, leaving him with 11 GCH points and 3 Grand majors.
Jules also did an amazing job, taking WB/BOW for her second major on Saturday morning and a single point from WB on Sunday, for a total of 8 points over the weekend. This leaves her lacking 5 singles to finish her AKC Championship in VERY limited showing.
A huge thank-you to all of the judges for consistently recognizing the quality in these half-siblings!

May 31, 2019 - Today was a FANTASTIC day in the show ring for Echoing Wind Siberians. Our bred-by boy Bauer won WD/BOS at the Fargo-Moorehead KC for a 4-point major to finish his AKC Championship! Pending AKC, he is now known as AKC CH Echoing Wind's Bauer Hawkey! Thanks so much to Rachel Royer for providing such an awesome home for him and always keeping him in hard working condition!
Not about to let her younger half-brother steal all of the limelight, our Jules aka Echoing Wind's Kick Start My Heart also had a great day, taking WB and BOW over Bauer for a 4-point crossover major! This leaves her with 1 major and 6/15 points toward her Championship.
A huge thank-you to Judge Sandy Gelinas for the recognition and the amazing consistency in judging!

May 28, 2019 - A quick update on some changes happening here at Echoing Wind this year:
As we continue to improve our breeding program and the quality of our dogs, we will be retiring and rehoming some of our breeding dogs in order to thin our numbers and make room for pups we would like to hold back and new lines we might like to bring in.
As a result, a couple of our adult dogs (Skye and Ryder) will be coming available for adoption, and more may be added throughout the year.
More information will be posted on the "Available Adults/Older Pups" page once each dog is ready for adoption. Please feel free to call or send us an email if you are interested in becoming a loving forever home for one of these sweethearts!
We are also proud to announce that our Kruiz, who has been staying with Dawn and Trudy Ouimet of Whirlwind Siberians since September of 2018, is now a permanent member of their family. He will spend his days as a beloved show dog/house pet along with his daughter "Destiny" and granddaughter "Fury," showing and getting to pull sleds and carts in all seasons and loving every minute of it. We will be so sad to see him go, as Kruiz was our very first bred-by champion and by far the sweetest dog we have ever owned, and he has produced that same sweetness in every one of his pups. However, he could not be going to a better home and we know it is the absolute best thing for him. Thank you so much, Dawn and Trudy - we know you will love and care for our boy just as well, if not better, than we could do ourselves!

April 21, 2019 - Some wonderful news to share! This weekend our bred-by girl "Shiva," aka Echoing Wind Kodiak Stand By Me, was entered down at the NWAKC show in Fayetteville, AR. April 14, 2019 - The Echoing Wind team had a very nice time at the SHCTC Specialty show in Lake Elmo, MN. A huge Thank-You to Julie Lamonska for allowing us to add this girl to our breeding program!
Bauer was shown by Robin and did a beautiful job. He was 4th in 12-18 class on Saturday, but unfortunately was not the judge's choice either day. Regardless, we are very happy with our beautiful boy and proud of the way he performed.

March 10, 2019 - This has been a very eventful weekend for the Echoing Wind family!
We left this past Wednesday with our bred-by boys Kingston and Bauer and drove to Detroit, MI to enter the 3 specialties hosted by the SHCGD. Kingston wasn't the judges' choice this time, but Bauer did well, taking WD from the Open class during Saturday Show #2 for a 4 point major under judge Miss Ellen E. Vanden Avond. He then went Reserve to the major on Sunday under Ms. Shelley S. Hennessey. Thank you, judges, for recognizing our boy.
Far to the north, the fun continued with our extended family at Whirlwind Siberians. Kruiz finished his Canadian CH out of the Open class with 4 BOB and 1 BOS, handled by Dawn and Trudy Ouimet of Whirlwind Siberians! He is now AM/CAN/UKC/IABCA CH Echoing Wind's Take It All CA UCA!
His daughter Destiny also had a great weekend. She earned a BOB and BOS over the weekend, and finished her Canadian Grand Championship the same day her dad finished his CH! She is now CAN GCH Echoing Wind's Destiny Whirlwind! We are so proud and thankful to Dawn and Trudy for all they have done with Kruiz and Destiny, and we are excited to see what the future brings for them!
